If you haven't made it to RoJo Coffee Co. yet, it's time to fix that.

Tucked into a familiar spot at 388 S. Battlefield Blvd. in Chesapeake, RoJo has quietly become one of Great Bridge's most-loved morning stops and once you visit, it's easy to see why.

A Coffee Shop Built on Local Roots

RoJo was opened by Carly Smittle and her brother-in-law Logan Harrelson, two Great Bridge natives who grew up just minutes from where the shop now sits. The name "RoJo" is a nod to Logan's daughter, Rory Jolene — and that family-first spirit runs through everything the shop does. Even the building has history: for 25 years it was home to The Grill at Great Bridge, a mom-and-pop diner both owners have personal ties to, which makes RoJo's presence there feel less like a new business and more like a continuation of the neighborhood's story.

What's On the Menu

RoJo specializes in handcrafted specialty espresso drinks, but the food menu is just as much of a draw. Think breakfast burritos, loaded avocado toast, French toast specials, fresh pastries, and a rotating lineup of seasonal lattes. Everything is made to order, and the full menu is available all day, so whether you're an early riser or more of a "brunch at noon" kind of person, you're covered.

A Bonus for Flower Lovers

Depending on when you stop by, you may also catch Stacey's Blooms, a local flower vendor known for setting up pop-ups around Hampton Roads, parked outside with a rotating selection of fresh bouquets. It's the kind of unplanned, small-town moment that makes grabbing coffee feel like an event. (Pop-up schedules can shift, so it's worth following RoJo's social pages to catch Stacey's Blooms on the right day.)

Why It Fits the Neighborhood

Great Bridge has always had that walkable, know-your-neighbors kind of charm, and RoJo fits right into it. It's the kind of local business that makes a neighborhood feel more like a destination. The sort of amenity buyers ask about when they're weighing what it's actually like to live somewhere, not just what the listing photos show. For anyone house hunting in Chesapeake, spots like RoJo are a good reminder that the best parts of a neighborhood aren't always on the map yet.

Plan Your Visit

RoJo Coffee Co. is located at 388 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23322. Hours and daily specials can change, so it's worth checking their social media before you go.
